Our 22 lb Linotype Alloy Pieces provide one of the hardest and most trusted casting alloys available for bullet casting and precision metal casting applications. Linotype has been used for decades by bullet casters and metalworkers because of its excellent hardness, superior mold fill-out, and ability to produce crisp, detailed castings.

This classic alloy consists of approximately 84% lead, 12% antimony, and 4% tin, creating a casting metal with a typical hardness of around 21–22 Brinell (BHN). The combination of antimony and tin dramatically improves strength and casting performance, allowing molten metal to flow easily into molds while producing durable finished castings.

Each order contains 22 pounds of Linotype alloy pieces, sized for convenient handling and fast melting. The smaller pieces allow casters to easily measure and blend alloys when adjusting hardness levels or creating custom bullet casting formulas.

Linotype alloy is widely used for hard bullet casting, alloy blending, and precision casting projects where hardness and detail are critical.

Why Linotype Alloy?

Linotype alloy has long been a favorite among serious casters because it provides:

Exceptional hardness
Superior mold fill-out
Sharp bullet detail
Improved durability and wear resistance

Many bullet casters use linotype to harden softer lead alloys or to create custom blends for specific firearms and casting applications.
