Premium Bismuth Shot – Size B – 2 lb

Our Premium Bismuth Shot is manufactured specifically for shotgun reloading, providing reloaders with a high-density, non-toxic alternative to traditional lead shot.

Bismuth has a density greater than steel and closer to lead, helping provide excellent downrange energy and pattern performance. Because bismuth is also softer than steel, it is commonly selected by reloaders working with classic and vintage shotguns where harder steel shot may not be appropriate.

Each bag contains 2 pounds of Size B Premium Bismuth Shot, manufactured in the USA and carefully screened for consistent sizing.

Made by Experienced Bismuth Shot Producers

Behind Rock Shot Products is a manufacturing operation with nearly a decade of hands-on experience producing high-quality bismuth shot for the reloading industry.

Our production specialist has manufactured bismuth shot supplied to hunters and reloaders throughout the United States and internationally, including production for long-established companies within the shooting industry.

That experience now powers Rock Shot Products' own production, where years of refined manufacturing techniques and proprietary improvements are used to produce premium bismuth shot directly for reloaders.

Our goal is straightforward: consistent sizing, dependable quality, and reliable performance.

Why Bismuth Shot?

Bismuth shot offers reloaders an excellent combination of density, performance, and versatility.

Benefits include:

• Density greater than steel and closer to lead
• Softer than steel
• Excellent downrange energy
• Strong pattern performance
• Suitable for non-toxic shot applications
• Commonly selected for classic and vintage shotguns where harder steel may not be appropriate

For reloaders seeking lead-like performance without lead, bismuth remains one of the most effective non-toxic shot options available today.

Pellet Shape, Tails & Satellites

Bismuth shot behaves differently during production than traditional lead or steel shot.

Due to the properties of bismuth alloys and the manufacturing process, some pellets may exhibit minor surface features such as small tails or satellites. These characteristics are normal for manufactured bismuth shot.

These subtle surface features do not negatively affect the intended performance of the shot. In fact, they may create a slight aerodynamic stabilizing effect as the pellet travels through the air — somewhat similar in principle to the way surface features on a golf ball influence airflow and flight stability.

Shot Size Variation

Our bismuth shot is manufactured in large batches and carefully screened and sorted to maintain consistent sizing. As with most manufactured shot, minor dimensional variation can occur.

A small percentage of pellets may therefore be slightly larger or smaller than the nominal labeled size. For example, Size 4 shot may occasionally contain a small number of pellets closer to Size 3 or Size 5.

Overall pellet distribution is maintained consistent with the nominal shot size ordered.

Important Reloading & Firearm Safety Information

Bismuth shot is sold as a component for ammunition reloading. Always follow reputable published load data and all applicable firearm, ammunition, hunting, and non-toxic shot regulations.

Bismuth is commonly selected for classic and vintage shotguns because it is softer than steel. However, firearm construction, barrel condition, choke configuration, ammunition requirements, and manufacturer recommendations vary. Always confirm that the selected shot and load are appropriate for your specific firearm before use.
