Antimonial Lead 2–4% Alloy Ingots

Approximately 2 lb Per Ingot | 5-Ingot Minimum | Approximately 10 lb Minimum Order

Rock Shot Products Antimonial Lead 2–4% Alloy is a lead-based casting alloy containing approximately 2–4% antimony, with the balance being lead. The addition of antimony increases hardness compared with pure lead while maintaining useful workability for a variety of casting and metalworking applications.

This alloy is well suited for customers who need a harder lead alloy without moving to substantially higher-antimony compositions. It can be used as supplied or as a starting material for custom lead-alloy blending.

Each unit is one approximately 2-pound cast ingot. A minimum purchase of 5 ingots applies, resulting in an approximately 10-pound minimum order. Rock Shot Products' compact ingot format makes the alloy easier to handle, stack, store, portion, and add to a melting pot than larger individual ingots.

Individual ingot weight, dimensions, and appearance may vary slightly due to the casting process.

Why Choose 2–4% Antimonial Lead?

Adding antimony to lead increases alloy hardness compared with pure lead. A 2–4% antimony range provides a moderately hardened lead alloy that remains useful for many general casting applications.

This makes it a versatile choice for customers who want more hardness than pure or very soft lead while avoiding the substantially higher antimony content found in hardening master alloys such as Superhard.

Common Applications

  • Bullet and projectile casting alloy preparation
  • Fishing sinkers and weights
  • Specialty weights
  • Ballast applications
  • General lead casting
  • Custom lead-alloy blending
  • Metalworking and foundry applications
  • Specialty cast components

The Rock Shot 2 lb Ingot Advantage

Rock Shot Products uses a compact, flat approximately 2-pound ingot format designed for practical handling, storage, portioning, and melting.

Instead of requiring you to work with a single large ingot, the smaller individual ingots provide several practical advantages:

  • Easier to pick up, handle, and weigh
  • Convenient to stack and store
  • Easier to portion for smaller melts
  • Simple to add to common melting pots and vessels
  • Allows you to melt only the amount of alloy needed
  • No need to handle or melt a single large 5-pound ingot when only a smaller amount is required

The flat profile also provides substantial exposed surface area relative to a larger, thicker ingot, making it a practical format for remelting and alloy blending.

Each unit = approximately one 2 lb ingot.
Minimum purchase = 5 ingots (approximately 10 lb total).

For example:

Quantity 5 = approximately 10 lb
Quantity 10 = approximately 20 lb
Quantity 25 = approximately 50 lb

Alloy Blending

Antimonial lead can also be blended with other lead-based materials to adjust the composition and hardness of a finished alloy.

The resulting composition depends on the starting materials and quantities used. For consistent results, alloy additions should be calculated by weight.
