Rock Shot Products 70/30 Tin-Lead Solid Solder Bars are manufactured from a nominal alloy containing 70% tin and 30% lead. This high-tin solder alloy provides excellent wetting and flow characteristics and produces strong, clean solder joints for a variety of electrical, fabrication, tinning, repair, and specialty soldering applications.
With a relatively narrow melting range of approximately 361°F–374°F (183°C–190°C), 70/30 solder has a much shorter plastic or “pasty” range than lower-tin alloys such as 30/70. This allows the solder to transition relatively quickly through its working range while still providing a brief plastic stage before complete solidification.
Each bar is hand-poured into a compact form that is convenient to handle, store, and add to a solder pot or melting vessel.
