63 Tin / 37 Lead Solder Bar
Description
63/37 Tin-Lead Solid Solder Bar
Sold by the pound. Quantity 1 = approximately 1 lb of 63/37 solder (typically 3–4 bars).
Rock Shot Products 63/37 Tin-Lead Solid Solder Bar is manufactured from a nominal alloy of 63% tin and 37% lead. This classic eutectic solder alloy provides excellent flow and wetting characteristics and is widely used for electronics, electrical assembly, circuit board work, solder pots, and other precision soldering applications.
Unlike non-eutectic tin-lead alloys that pass through a plastic or "pasty" range as they cool, 63/37 solder transitions directly between liquid and solid at approximately 361°F (183°C). This rapid transition helps produce clean, consistent solder joints and reduces the opportunity for movement while a joint is solidifying.
Each bar is hand-poured into a compact form that is easy to handle, store, and add to a solder pot or melting vessel.
Product Specifications
Alloy Composition: 63% Tin / 37% Lead
Alloy Type: Eutectic Tin-Lead Solder
Form: Solid Solder Bar
Sold By: Approximately 1 lb increments
Bars Per Pound: Typically 3–4 bars
Approximate Bar Dimensions: 12" × 3/8" × 3/8"
Approximate Bar Weight: 0.25–0.30 lb
Melting Temperature: 361°F (183°C)

Individual bar dimensions and weights may vary slightly due to the hand-poured casting process. Each quantity purchased represents approximately one pound of solder.
Why Choose 63/37 Solder?
The 63% tin / 37% lead composition is eutectic, meaning the alloy melts and solidifies at a single temperature rather than over a temperature range.
This characteristic makes 63/37 particularly useful for applications where good flow, predictable melting behavior, and clean solder joints are important.
